Locally owned and dripping with flavor, literally. Mellow Mushroom features a wide range of stone-baked pizzas, salads, hoagies, burgers and tap beers. We’ve personally eaten 100’s of meals at the two local Mellow Mushrooms over the years, if you’re looking for great pizza in Blowing Rock or Boone, this is your spot.

Hellbender Bed & Beverage

Classics with a twist.

Named after the giant salamanders found in surrounding rivers and streams, you’ll see how their conservancy ties into the vibe when you step inside.The menu features classics with a twist served in a relaxed and cozy atmosphere. A sister property of Gideon Ridge Inn and Bistro Roca - so you know the food is going to be good! This place is our go-to on Thursdays for Local’s Night.

The Best Cellar Restaurant

Enchanted fine dining.

Once you experience this one for yourself, you’ll see why an advanced reservation is strongly suggested. We can’t recommend The Best Cellar enough — incredible food, great ownership and intimate setting. This Blowing Rock staple has fine dining as enchanting as the estate that surrounds it.  


Blowing Rock Ale House

Cafe Violette

Chef Kyle Martin boasts an impressive resume and has crafted a menu that will have you going miles away from Carolina in your mind - all the way to the Mediterranean coast of France. Cafe Violette has the most unique menu of the Blowing Rock restaurants as each dish tastes so intentional and carefully crafted. Be sure to save room for their beignets!

Town Tavern

Sports bar and restaurant, open late!

Catch the game and fuel your team spirit with all the necessities: wings, burgers, and beer. Check their schedule online and catch live music or even more entertaining, karaoke. Typically open until 2am on Fridays and Saturdays.  

Bistro Roca & Antlers Bar

$$$ - .5 miles from The Getaway

A bistro, but better. 

Tucked away on Wonderland Trail you won’t want to miss out on this Blowing Rock favorite. Upscale, yet casual they’ve got a menu with variety from lobster mac and cheese, and flatbread pizzas to Lamb Shank. We aren’t sure exactly what it is about Bistro Roca, but it’s such a great restaurant experience — the atmosphere is romantic, the food is delicious, the meal portions are just right. You will thoroughly enjoy yourself and those you’re eating with at Bistro, if you’re lucky enough to get a table.

Reserve a table or find a seat at The Antlers bar (if you’re a dog lover you’re in for an extra treat).


Twigs

A southern perspective on expertly prepared dishes.

Less than a 5 minute drive from The Getaway with plenty of parking. Enjoy a romantic dinner with your loved one, or sit down in the bar area for a more relaxed meal. This long term local favorite has amazing steaks and cocktails — we’d recommend final course options if we ever saved room for dessert.

Mexican Rock

Shaking things up with a Mexican-Country Concept

This restaurant offers a distinctive blend of authentic Mexican fare and the rustic allure of the countryside. Picture a table adorned with a diverse array of plates, from sizzling American steak cuts to tantalizing pasta and a fresh seafood selection.

Moon Thai Sushi

Sushi Bar, curry, fried rice and more.

Authentic and contemporary Thai and Japanese cuisine. Place a to-go order, and enjoy gyozas and sushi rolls from the comfort of your balcony! We’re not sure what it is, but Moon Thai’s hibachi dishes are insanely good - like, enjoying take home leftovers for 2 days good. If you’re looking for sushi in Blowing Rock, this is the place.

Restaurant at Gideon Ridge

Gourmet food at the top of the mountain.

For those that like to live life at the top. Located inside the magical Gideon Ridge Inn, they utilize the freshest ingredients and don’t miss any of the details. The food, atmosphere, and service always hit the mark! If you’re reading this - book your reservation ahead of time because this place stays booked.

  2. Hours and days of operation can sometimes change abruptly.

  3. Almost all restaurants welcome walk-ins, but we highly recommend making a reservation in advance if you can! With food this good, you’re likely to experience a wait time without one.
