General

My reservation payment failed, what should I do?

If you encounter an error or a failed payment authorization, here are the possible reasons:

  • Your browser or device has a pop-up blocker that prevents the payment security page from opening
  • If you're overseas, your bank may be sending a netcode SMS to a different phone number than the one you're using
  • Your bank may not be enrolled in the 3D Secure verification program, or your card may not support international and online payments

If you face this error, try making the payment again using a different browser with all ad blockers disabled.

If the issue persists, please call or text our team directly at 828-237-1925 or contact your bank or card issuer to confirm if they support 3D Secure verification and if your card can be used for international and online payments.

What experience should I expect during check-in?
  • The Getaway does not have any staff or check-in desk on site.
  • When you arrive to the property, select a parking spot you like.
  • Use the door code provided via text by The Getaway to access your unit (‘self check-in’).
  • Prior to your arrival, your unit will be cleaned and stocked with 4 sets of towels and washcloths, dish and laundry detergent, and all systems will be checked to ensure they’re operating as expected.
  • We’re in the process of building out an Owner’s Manual section of the website to help guide you through your stay at The Getaway.
What is the check-in and check-out time?

Check-in begins at 4:00 p.m., and check-out is at 10:30 a.m. Early check-ins or late check-outs may be available upon request and subject to availability. Requests for early check in can be submitted via hotel messaging on the morning of your arrival.

How much will my method of payment be charged when I make a reservation?

100% of reservation fees will be charged to your method of payment at the time of booking.

Are you pet-friendly?

While we love our furry friends, The Getaway is not pet-friendly to maintain the comfort and allergies of all our guests. Having un-approved pets at the hotel will result in a minimum additional cleaning charge of $300 and eviction. Service animals are welcome.

Do you offer housekeeping service?

Our team takes great care to ensure your suite is thoroughly cleaned and ready for your arrival and again after your departure. For guests staying on an extended basis, our guest services team is happy to discuss additional cleaning options to meet your needs.

Do you sell gift cards?

While we do not offer physical gift cards at this time, if you would like to reserve a room for someone else, please contact us at contact@thegetawaybr.com

Is smoking permitted inside the room?

Smoking is not permitted inside the rooms or on balconies. Smoking in these areas will result in a minimum additional cleaning charge of $300 and eviction.

How fast is your wifi and is there an additional charge to use wifi?

Wifi speeds for each unit range from 220-290 MBps! Wifi is included with your stay and each unit has its own, dedicated wifi network.

Are there quiet hours or rules for noise?

The Town of Blowing Rock has ordinances stating, ‘Raucous noise from a party or gathering in residential areas is prohibited after 11:00 p.m.’ We enforce these Town ordinances and ask that guests be mindful of their neighbors’ different sleeping/waking schedules during their stay.

Will snow be removed from the property during inclement weather?

During times of inclement weather we will attempt to remove any precipitation (snow, ice, etc) from the parking lot and sidewalk area in a timely manner. During times of heavy precipitation, snow and/or ice can accumulate quickly, we advise you to remain in your rooms until any snow/ice has been removed from the property. We will make efforts to communicate frequently with guests during periods of inclement weather so you feel well informed.

Amenities

Is parking included in my reservation?

The Getaway includes a single parking space with each reservation. Guests need to display the parking card on their dashboard during their stay (card will be on the coffee table during check-in).

Guest requiring additional parking spaces must be approved by The Getaway staff prior to check-in. For guests requiring multiple automobiles that we can not accommodate, we recommend the Blowing Rock public parking garage located at 333 Wallingford St, Blowing Rock, NC 28605.

Unapproved automobiles will be towed at the owner's expense.

Is coffee provided in my room?

Each room at The Getaway comes standard with a Cuisinart stainless steel 12 cup combination coffee maker. This coffee maker will allow you to brew the coffee of your choosing and also enjoy instant hot water to make various teas, soups, cocoas, and more.

Are hairdryers provided by The Getaway?

Yes. One hairdryer will be provided in each townhome.

Reservations

What is your cancellation policy?
  • Cancellations made greater than 21 days from check-in date are entitled to a full refund, less a $50 cancellation fee.
  • Cancellations made 14-21 days from check-in date are entitled to a 50% refund.
  • Cancellations made 14 days or less from check-in date are not entitled to a refund.
  • Cancellations made on reservations booked within 7 days of check-in date are not entitled to a refund.
  • Any changes made to your reservation within these time frames will be subject to our cancellation policy.
What should I expect after I make a reservation?
  • Immediately upon making a reservation, you will receive a confirmation email detailing your check-in and check-out dates, our policies, reservation billing details, and contact information.
  • At 8 AM, the morning of your arrival you will receive a text with your smart lock keypad code so you can access your unit whenever you arrive.
  • Guests making same-day reservations will receive a message containing their smart lock door code as well

How do I make changes to an existing reservation?

If you need to add or remove a night(s) from an existing reservation, please contact our staff via email (contact@thegetawaybr.com) or call us at 828-237-1925. Please include your reservation number when submitting a change to any reservation.

Changing dates for an entire reservation will be subject to our cancellation policies (see FAQ item above).
